Well, the speech is officially done. Wow and I’ve got almost 72 hours before having to present it! Nice. So, today I’m doing the whole rehersal thing–in my kitchen. The kitchen has nice acoustics and I really feel like I have a booming voice. Who would have thought that a 3.5 minute speech could stir up such butterflies?

I was reading a book on public speaking at B&N the other day and the author pointed out that nervousness is really just misplaced energy. Kind of a nice concept, eh? So, I’m doing my best to channel this “energy” into delivering the best speech possible and away from my shaking hands

The other cool thing is that the speech is going to be televised! In addition, there will also be a webstream of the event! Cool! So, assuming everything goes well, I’ll post the link to the feed after the speech is safely delivered. If it doesn’t go well…well then you’ll have to hunt the link down on your own!
