Well the flu has subsided. My immune system has done its job–and except for the occassional cough or sneeze–I’m back in good health. (In case you were wondering). Today we have a sectional exam in Tooth Morph, followed by a quiz in Neuroscience tomorrow. The aforementioned flu bug precluded me from going to any of the Neuro lectures this week, so I’ll be studying cramming all night tonight.

In other news, I’m really enjoying my new Nokia 3650 cell phone. It has a great 640×480 camera on it which does the job for capturing photos for the class website. I miss the small size of my Sony Ericsson T610, but the Symbian OS on the Nokia makes it a sweet gadget. Take a look at some of the more recent photo blog entries and you’ll notice the difference in quality.

Now, off to that quiz!

Drip Drop

So which do you hate the most?

The night time sneezing, sniffling, running nose, headache or sore throat? For me the latter makes the flu unbearable. You know what else makes the flu suck? Having the flu while going to dent school. Gone are the days when I can take off for 48 hours at the slightest onset of the formidable influenza virus.

Unfortunately, the girlfriend has it too. In fact, it would be more accurate to say that she is the propagator of this evil upon my immune system. But she’s so darn cute, it’s hard to hold it against her. Undoubtedly this was something she brought home from one of her patients at the clinic.

Here’s my Public Service Announcement for the day: If you’ve got a cold or the flu, don’t go to the dentist! We in the dental community can do without your contribution to our normal flora. Now, where’s my TheraFlu?

So, does anybody feel sorry for me yet?

It’s November and the air is brimming with election excitement! A dozen or so brave souls have either been nominated, or nominated themselves, for various class offices. On Wednesday, my classmates and I will be choosing our class President, Secretary, Treasurer, etc. While class office has never been my bag, I do have my eye on one office. Class Technology Officer. Yes, I’m basically running for the office of chief computer geek. With the office comes the responsibility of designing/maintaining the class website. I’ve got some exciting ideas for the class site and hopefully my fellow classmates will entrust me with their e-futures. We’ll see.

In other news, I’m also throwing my hat into the political arena on a state level. Today, I’m submitting my application for Student Representative for the CDA (California Dental Association). It’s quite the office and the opportunities this position brings with it are substantial. Competition is tougher for this spot and I’m hoping to get a chance to interview for the position. Again, we’ll see.

In even other news…I got a new skateboard. Cool.

More to come…
