Down & Out In The Magic Kingdom | one lonely success

I’ve been meaning to post this for all those interested but have perpetually been forgetting about it. Well thanks to some unwelcome boredom at school this week (fellow LLU students understand), I’ve been catching up on Cory Doctorow’s awesome novel “Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom” on my Palm handheld.

Cory is an awesome novelist as well as an all around good guy. He’s a prominent force at the Electronics Frontier Foundation and is diligently working to keep big brother out of our of our digital lives. In the true sprit of art and literature, Cory makes his works freely available for personal use under the Creative Commons License. If you like his work, do him a favor and buy a copy of his book via his site.

What are you talking about, “unwelcome boredom?” I am a LLU student and I find that very offensive. I am here at LLUSD to learn the profession of dentistry and I take it seriously. I know people like you, you either sit in the back of class or the front away from the professor so not to be seen. You sit there and play games or read books and magazines all the while serioius students are being distracted. I wish people like you wouldn’t even come to class. Its obvious that you don’t care about your education, that is not what bothers me though. Its that you take away from everyone else who is trying to learn. If you acutally cared about your education you find yourself not as bored as you do. You would see that Dr. Lassard has great things to say and is a stimulating lecturer. You would see that it is necessary to spend 15 hours in lab to make our casts look perfect. Shame on you and shame on people like you.

Less coffee, and a side note. Any who spends 15 hours on anything else but having fun has an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
