Despite an increasing amount of FTP usage, I’ve never found an FTP client that fits my desires. My biggest desire is of course, price. Basically, I want the thing free. FTP’ing for me falls along the same lines as browsing the web and checking email. I don’t want to drop cash on software that should be free. Now, before the email comes pouring in, let me say that there is a market for very sofisticated FTP clients. However, for non-business/non-enterprise use, there should be a low-priced (free) alternative to CuteFTP, FTP Explorer and the others.
Today, while looking around for a great SSH client called PuTTY, I came across Core FTP Lite. This thing is totally free, totally customizable and everything I need in an FTP client. I don’t hear a lot of “press” for this one, so I thought I would pass it on to those who are interested.
