I love to blog. I love that people actually read my blog. I love sharing moments of my life with the world.
However.
The world has turned on me and my feelings can no longer be transmitted through the confines of my keyboard.
“And the picture frames are facing down
and the ringing from this empty sound
is deafening and keeping me from sleep.
And breathing is a foreign task
and thinking’s just too much to ask
and you’re measuring your minutes by a clock that’s blinking eights.”
This is incredible, starving and insatiable…
One more from Friday night:
“Dude, do not drink Mr. Pibb. Mr. Pibb is just a rip off of Dr. Pepper. Dude didn’t even get his degree!”
What a great weekend. On Friday night, we hooked up with the Stone & Sarah and spent the evening in Downtown Brea. We headed down there with plans to eat atMarket City Cafe for a little Mediterranean-style Italian food. After about 5 or 6 breadsticks, I floated the idea of going to the Improv Club which was a mere block away. The kids were all for it and we headed over after dinner. Downtown brea is awesome because everything is just so accessible. Parking, dinner, shopping, movies, clubs, etc., everything is within a 5 minute walk.
The headliner for the evening was Mitch Hedberg who I hadn’t heard much of prior to the show. Let’s just say that Mitch put on an awesome set! His unique delivery and stage presence made his funny stuff funnier and his really bad stuff seem laughable. Highly recommend you check him out if he comes to your area or check out his website. He’s got a few video clips up and you can even buy his latest CD.
Favorite joke from the night (loosely paraphrased):
“Man, how come when someone wants to tell you that you’re cool, they say, ‘Man you’re the shit!’ I don’t want to be the shit! How about something nice instead like…sunshine. ‘Man, you’re the sunshine!l Just sounds better, ya know?”
