Not many things in life are as annoying as spam. No one likes opening their inbox only to find multiple offers for get rich schemes, male enhancement or pr0n. For bloggers, these kind of attacks are no longer limited to the inbox but also to our blog’s comments. These rat bastards basically troll the web looking for blogs with open comments to attack. In the past week, I’ve been hit twice. Each time, the spammers have hit all 200 of my posts multiple times. Since my blog notifies when I receive a comment to the site, my inbox has also been overflowing with notifications.
Giant pain in the ass.
I finally took the time to install MT-Blacklist and am hoping that this spam-fighting plugin will ward off the majority of the crap and still allow friends/readers to post comments. I really don’t want to turn off comments on this site, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
