any else had a chance to check out the new pearl jam single?
i downloaded “world wide suicide” last week and i’m addicted to the guitar hook. then again i’m a sucker for seattle-post-grundge music, so you’re mileage may vary.
spend a buck, all the cool kids are doing it.
ok so i didnt actually spend one of my dollars at the itunes store, i spent a dollar of the gift certificate that josh gave my for xmas. my friends kick ass.
so today is brandon’s birthday.
for those of you who don’t know brandon, he’s the guy who’s famous for not being terribly concerned about eating a buffalo ball.
he’s also the only guy i’ve felt was good enough to take care of my little sister and one of my closest friends.
today brando’s 29 and even though we’re having to delay the celebration a bit, tonight i’m raising a glass to brandon.
celebrate brandon’s birthday, bitches!
today is a glorious day for two reasons and both of them are extremely nerdy.
if this type of thing offends you, please leave as there will be no four letter words in this post…you have been warned.
1.) today apple released firmware, software and drivers that allow the new intel Macs to run windows xp and vista. independent reports are showing that with the official drivers, apple’s macbook pro is one of the fastest windows machines available. someone please get michael dell a clean pair of boxers…oh and a pair for anyone who bought a windows notebook in the past 6 months.
2.) my cable company decided it would be fun to increase my bandwidth…for free (for 3 months).
yep the ol’ interweb is quite snappy these days.

bad. ass.
UPDATE: Here’s a video that shows the entire dual-boot process.
dear self,
just because you live in southern california does not mean that you can wear flip-flops everyday of the year. this includes days when the weather chick predicts 4″ of rain.
you will slip and fall. you will be cold and wet. you will walk barefoot through puddles teaming with all sorts of god-forsaken-bacteria.
quit being a dumbass,
jcdn
so yesterday, i was feeling sorry for myself because i was stuck in my office studying all sorts of empirical non-sense. this continued until about 11pm when a colleague came in after finishing his daily surgical residency.
i entangled him in some witty banter and he explained how he had been on call since 4am…the day before.
I shit you not.
so he goes on to tell me that he’s happy to have some time off until 4am the next morning when it all started again! i swear he started to tear up when i mentioned that time was changing and that he was getting dicked out of an hour of sleep. (in retrospect, this sounded like an asshole thing to say, but better me tell him then him show up an hour late to work and somebody dies or something.)
so i sat there feeling like the world’s biggest jackass when i heard him make a series of personal phone calls in some african dialect…followed by another phone call in spanish…and one last phone call in french.
i learned a very important lesson last nite and that is that i dont work hard and i am not smart. that guy works hard and that guy is smart.
…hmmm…i wonder if he has a kick ass blog? cuz having a kick ass blog totally makes up for the surgeon/speaks-four-languages-thing
