    this is true. stonebraker told me this joke back in 2003. i’ve loved it ever since.

    in fact it used to be one of my “random quotes” on my old blog.

    however, as a scientist/phd i should know that referencing other’s work is the hallmark of our field.

    so for the record: stonebraker wrote that joke :)
