one lonely success

this morning i pulled myself from bed and drove to starbucks b/c sometimes only a venti iced-americano will wake me up.

so i drove through the local starbucks drive-thru and when the barista handed me my drink she said, “that is my favorite drink to make, thank for ordering it.”

at first i thought this was part of some sort of “make the customer feel cool” marketing thing.

“cool“, i replied.

while my foot-long receipt printed, she continued, “…yeah i dont know what it is but i just love pouring that steaming hot espresso over the cold ice and just watching it melt and i dont know about you but it just feels so so good.”

i have no idea what any of what she said was supposed to mean so i just said, “ok…well rad, i’ll be sure and order it again tomorrow.”

this was a weird way to start the morning and ever since i’ve been off by 1/2 a step.
