so I’ve been taking a break from real-life by playing with my blog’s design. considering that so much of what i do these days on the web has less-and-less to do with “traditional” blog posts and more to do with twitter, facebook, flickr, etc., i figured the time was right for a change.
while the main blog content is still the “traditional” type, a good percentage of the site is dedicated to aggregating everything i’m doing around the web and wrapping it up in a pretty package.
comments/suggestions/criticism are always welcome…
as you know, certain of our united states include death as a penalty for crimes committed against our fellow citizens.

does this bother anyone else?
have you ever had to deal with the IRS, attempted to start a business or stood in line to change your polling place?
have you ever hoped against hope that our government could properly forward your mail from your old residence to your new one?
my god…have you ever been to the DMV!?
asking yourself these questions, would you be willing to trust these same jokers with another’s life and/or death?
no. not on our watch.
today, governor bill richardson repealed the death penalty in the state of new mexico.
“Regardless of my personal opinion about the death penalty, I do not have confidence in the criminal justice system as it currently operates to be the final arbiter when it comes to who lives and who dies for their crime.”
He noted that more than 130 death row inmates have been exonerated in the past 10 years, including four in New Mexico.
“Faced with the reality that our system for imposing the death penalty can never be perfect, my conscience compels me to replace the death penalty with a solution that keeps society safe.”
i am left wondering whom among us would place our trust in any of the others among us to decide who lives and who dies.

i can’t believe that saturday is slowly coming to an end…fuck…i just remembered that time changes tonight and that we lose an hour of sleep/time/reality.

so i’ve literally spent the entire day fixing, polishing and adding to the pretty girl and i’s wedding website. with any luck, it will be ready to go live to our adoring public (read: you) sometime on monday. the site is flash-based with auxiliary static HTML pages for the hard-core info that didn’t play well with the design-centric portion of the flash setup.
the site has been a six-week-long labor-of-love and i’m actually shocked that the whole thing works. everytime that i hit refresh and all the animations, music, photos fall into place, i can be heard muttering “…wow” under my breath.
here’s to shit not breaking before monday…cheers and happy day-light-savings-time.
