changes made

for us here at 1LS, one of the best parts of blogging is having a digitally-permanent record of our lives.

that being said, four years ago I was blogging about the Bush v. Kerry debates…

the more things change, the more they stay the same, eh?

“Debate Impressions”

I’ve been trying to convey the impression I get when I watch Bush speak and tonight Jessi Klein summed it up perfectly.

“Watching Bush talk always gives me that feeling like when you’re watching an alcoholic uncle give a toast at a wedding - you’re just kind of hoping he’ll get through it without messing up too bad, but he inevitably does.”

archives redux: muppets are scary

one year ago today, stonebraker and i talked about how scary it would be to live in a muppet-world:

Me: so alice in wonderland is a fucked up headtrip of a movie

Stonebraker: yes it is

Me: i cant believe that it’s a kids movie

Stonebraker: yeah it used to scare me as a child

Me: whatever, i watched it last night and it scared me

Stonebraker: muppets used to scare me…I’m NOT kidding

Me: lol. really?

Stonebraker: yeah, I get creeped out watching them now

Me: you know who scared me as a kid? those fuck puppets on mr.rogers in the neighborhood of make believe

Stonebraker: there’s just somthing not right about those muppets!

Me: yeah, how come every kids show we watched was like one big acid trip?

Stonebraker: could you image being stuck in a a muppet world?

Me: are you even hearing me any more?

archives redux: respect me b/c i’m old

i have the oldest blog on the internet except for raymi and tony and maybe sean.ok so maybe four years of blogging isnt the longest on the internet but i’ve definitely been blogging longer than stonebraker and at least half of the cool kids.

the moral of this post is that you should respect your elders…damn kids.

archive redux: deluxe box set

you know what’s awesome about this old-school-archive-post? i don’t even remember it happening!this is the beauty of having a blog. originally published on oct 22, 2005:

so we had band practice again last night and i tried to capture some of the magic with my phone’s video cam, but the audio came out sounding like we were torturing a cat.guess you’ll just have to wait for the special edition dvd boxset.after practice, we went over to little-hannah’s house and danced around all crazy because travis was wearing his jam-pants. rayleen was there and since she’s all about the ambiance, she turned off all the lights and the girls started lighting every candle in the place. pretty soon it was like 95 degrees in the house and rather smokey which was just the way the kids liked it.
