eBay’s nip slip

so last night i was talking to my girl on the phone and the following conversation took place:

me: hey go to ebay.com i want your advice on something

her: ok…

[pause...pause...pause]

me: are you there?

her: yeah…oh and there are boobs on ebay

me: what? no…ebay.com…e-b-a-y dot c-o-m

her: i know how to get to ebay and there are boobs here.

me: what page did you go to on ebay?

her: the front page!

[i log on to ebay...and indeed see a set of bosoms on the front page]

me: whoa. that’s awesome.

her: how did that happen?

me: its hard to explain and i cant talk right now b/c i have to blog this.

so yeah, ebay decided to put up dynamic content of seller’s gallery pictures and some dude was apparently selling some 70s-esque nudity and it made it to the front page.

the other stuff is sending me to hell

photo_320x240.shkl.jpg

so today i said goodbye to my beloved macbook pro.

i organized it’s software, documentation and power cords neatly into its box.

i wrapped it up in its protective paper cover and gently placed it in its styrofoam housing; lowering the lid and sealing the box for shipment was harder than i had expected.

nonetheless, it’s going off to a happy auction winner somewhere in illinois and i’m sure it will live out the rest of its life in happiness.

so now that my portable mac is safely in the hands of FedEX, I’m hearing through the rumor-web that tomorrow might bring updates that will make my once top-of-the-line mac a second-class citizen.

i started feeling bad about this and SMS’d my good friend stonebraker for support.

ME: i shipped my MBP off today. if there are updates tomorrow am i going to go to hell?

Stonebraker: well yes, but its not because of the updates, it’s because of all the other stuff.

the moral of this story is that (1) good friends are always supportive and (2) that you should always try to sell your mac the day before new models arrive.
