she woke up first. before i knew it she was dressed and ready to kill that damn elliptical machine—and she did.

i staggered behind with grumbling-contempt; anything less would have been out of character.

walking out of the bathroom—toothbrush in mouth—i saw buster peaking out from under the covers.

content to only catch a peek of the nonsense going on so early on a saturday morning, he would wait for the clang of his food bowl and rattle of the can opener to commit to an early morning wake-up call.

these two are what make my life such an amazing place and when they do the things that are simply “them” i feel the most at home.

there were so many times this weekend that i would look over at her and find myself needing to catch my breath; sitting on the couch, hair twirling around her finger, buster safe-and-warm in her lap.

this is my waking life and i have no idea what i’ve done to be so damn lucky.

to commemorate the day, I’m uploading the first of many wedding photos.

out of the hundreds of shots josh took, this is one of my personal favorites and today seems like the perfect time to share it with the world.

You see, when it comes to my little photography hobby, I have a rather short attention span. I plan out what I want to photograph, take the shots, play with them in post and am ready to move on to the next excuse to shoot. That being said, I never post as many photos to Flickr+Facebook+the blog as I plan. With this in mind, I’m going to start posting photos from the honeymoon so that when I get back from this weekend’s trip, I’ll be free to show off shots with L-series glass.

Here are two shots from the honeymoon week: The first was taken from the bridge that spans the Twin Lakes looking towards the aptly named Twin Falls. The day after this was taken, we hiked up to the top of the falls and looked back on the bridge from above. It was amazing and highly recommended if you ever find yourself in Mammoth.

This shot was taken from the balcony of our honeymoon suite at the Westin hotel (yes, there’s a Westin in Mammoth Lakes). Misty managed to drag me out of bed at 5am and I managed to shoot the sunrise through one blood-shot-eye. The fact that any of the shots were in focus is a small miracle and a real testament to lens stabilization technology.

at some point on night #2, laine saw me struggling to hold my camera straight for longer that 2.2 seconds. lucky for you she decided to take over filming duties and caught this super-hard-to-find-rare-collectors-edition of the “fuzzy wuzzy” improv.

luckily, onelonelysuccess.com is safely registered for another year of posts about buster and replete with words from the list.

so last night, the prettygirl and i were sitting around the computer and i wanted to brag about my website and how popular i am in canada.

dutifully, i typed in onelonelysuccess.com and was greeted with a “this site is no longer available b/c some jackass didnt pay“.

looking up to me with concern, the prettygirl replied under her breath, “…fail?”

i was so proud of her for dropping some ‘net slang that i could have cared less about my blog.

each one teach one, yo.

we staked out sweet spots on the lawn a mere 100feet or so from the stage. behind us were these four lesbian chicks of varying levels of attractiveness. what they may have lacked in hottness, they made up for in their lack of inhibition. the pretty girl said that she was officially keeping track of how many times she caught me stealing glances of the four-way-all-girl makeout session going on behind us. when i asked her for my total at the end of the evening, she said she quit counting in an effort to save me the embarrassment.

lesbians FTW.

so after graciously standing in line for coffee, the pretty girl decided to bring us back this treat. unfortunately after knowing each other for nearly a decade, she forgot that peanuts represent an anaphylactic shock type experience for me. she made it up to me by immediately running back to the ever-increasing line and returning with peanut-free ice cream.

good times.

so on saturday the pretty girl and i went to the claremont folk music festival in claremont, ca. as you may recall, brandon and i went last year and watched ben harper drop new music from the then unreleased “lifeline” album.

this year’s event was much more low-key and community oriented. the entire festival was held at sycamore elementary school (ben’s grade school alma mater). as the local artisans were packing up their tents and goods we claimed our place on the grade-school lawn with our trusty red & blue plaid blanket.

from about 100feet away we watched jackson browne, followed by ben harper and then taj mahal each rock incredible sets. benharper’s website has all the details, but here is the setlist which included a brand-new track (spanish red wine) for the new studio album.

me: are you there?

her: yeah…oh and there are boobs on ebay

me: what? no…ebay.com…e-b-a-y dot c-o-m

her: i know how to get to ebay and there are boobs here.

me: what page did you go to on ebay?

her: the front page!

[i log on to ebay...and indeed see a set of bosoms on the front page]

me: whoa. that’s awesome.

her: how did that happen?

me: its hard to explain and i cant talk right now b/c i have to blog this.

so yeah, ebay decided to put up dynamic content of seller’s gallery pictures and some dude was apparently selling some 70s-esque nudity and it made it to the front page.
